FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

Must I pre-register online? Will I be able to register at the gate?

Although tickets will be available for purchase at the gate, you’ll get better pricing if you purchase in advance on our website. Tickets are usually on sale on our Festival page by March or April.
I have an RV that needs a hook-up. How do I get that?

You’ll have a chance to request an RV hookup when you purchase tickets in advance online. RV hookups are limited so please request your spot in advance. We do our best to provide RV hookups to those who have reserved them, but due to limited space and limited quantity, there are no guarantees.
Are there food vendors at the festival?

Yes, food vendors are usually present on the Friday and Saturday of the festival, and we close out on Sunday morning with a CROMA fundraiser pancake breakfast!
Is there any nearby lodging if I don’t want to camp?

Nearby lodging is limited but may be available in the town of Berthoud.
I’m new to Old-time music. How will I fit in?

Everyone has to start somewhere and we were all beginners at one point. Many of us have spent years sitting on the sidelines, listening, quietly playing along, asking questions, etc. It’s all part of the learning experience and we’ve all been there, so please make yourself comfortable and use this as a wonderful week-long learning opportunity!
How big is the Rocky Mountain Old-Time Music Festival?

We usually see anywhere between 300-400 attendees, so the festival has a small intimate feel to it.
Are pets allowed?

Sorry, pets are not allowed at the festival.
Can I bring my bike?

Parrish Ranch doesn’t allow bikes on site, although there are trails nearby.
Is potable water available?

There is plenty of water on site for drinking, washing dishes, etc.
Can I build a fire?

Sorry, open fires (including charcoal) are not allowed on the ranch.
Are fireworks allowed?

Fireworks are not allowed at Parrish Ranch.
How much shade is available?

There are numerous Cottonwood trees on site that provide shade. Please feel free to bring a shade tent to provide shade at your camp if you like.
I heard that there is a river on site - tell me more please...

The Little Thompson River flows through Parrish Ranch, and by mid-July, the water level is usually anywhere from ankle deep up to about waist deep (on an adult) in a few areas. It provides a nice way to cool off during the heat of the day. Some years there is more water flowing than others, so be prepared for anything.
Can I go fishing?

Fishing is not allowed at Parrish Ranch.
Tell me about camping...

Camping spots are not reserved or assigned; they are first come, first serve. However, we do try to help to Tetris the RV’s into place in order to better accommodate people and maximize the electrical and water hookups.
Can I park my car next to my tent?

Parking is within close proximity to the tent camping area; gear can either be dropped off or brought in on foot. We ask that you don’t park next to your tent simply to allow more room for tent campers and jam circles.
Can I sleep in one of the on site buildings?

Sleeping is not allowed in any of the ranch building. Please camp in the appropriate and designated areas.
Are showers available?

There are two showers that service the ranch so you may have to be creative in terms of when you shower. Please be courteous to others who may also be waiting for a rinse.
Can I set up a target for throwing knives, darts, axes, or other sharp objects in camp?

No. No. No. And, NO. Darts, throwing knives, throwing axes, guns, and other similar items are not allowed at Parrish Ranch. Please be courteous and safe around other campers and festival-goers and leave items at home that might cause others harm.
Is merch available?

We have lots of t-shirts, hats, and other festival items for sale during designated times, as is listed in the festival program. Artists will also be selling their CDs and band merchandise. Don’t wait until the last day because sizes and supplies are limited!
